The Whitney Biennial will present Yair Oelbaum’s play There we will be buried, to be performed as part of the Biennial exhibition May 16-19 during the museum’s hours.

The company will be comprised of fellow Biennial residents Yedida Oelbaum, Jessica Polaniecki, Kai Althoff (who has been developing the play with Oelbaum), Daniel Cowen, and Alex Beth.

The piece has been in development since 2010, and debuted in 2011 at the Dixon Studio in Southend-on-Sea in Essex, England. Althoff and Oelbaum will play a pair of single mothers who are searching for a lost daughter.

Althoff has also contributed music and costumes to the piece. Additional costumes were fabricated by Yair Oelbaum and designer Camilla Carper.

There we will be buried will also be performed in this June as part of the London International Festival of Theater at the Institute of Contemporary Art.
