Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall will direct and choreograph the Broadway musical Ever After featuring a book and lyrics by Marcy Heisler and music by Zina Goldrich.

The show, which also features music direction by Mary Mitchell-Campbell, will open on Broadway during the 2013-2014 season, after a pre-Broadway engagement. Dates, venues, casting, and additional creative team will be announced at a later date.

The show -- based on the film of the same name -- tells the story of Danielle de Barbarac, the daughter of a Nobleman in 16th-century France, who embarks on a series of adventures, standing up to her scheming stepmother, befriending Leonardo DaVinci, and winning the love of the crown prince of France.

Marshall is currently represented on Broadway by Nice Work If You Can Get It, for which she has received Tony Award nominations for Best Director and Best Choreography, and Anything Goes, for which she won the Tony for Best Choreography. Her numerous other Broadway credits include The Pajama Game, 1776, Wonderful Town, Grease, Kiss Me, Kate, and Swinging on a Star.

Heisler and Goldrich are best known for writing the hit song "Taylor, the Latte Boy." Their other collaborations include Junie B. Jones, Dear Edwina, and The Great American Mousical.
