The producers of the hit musical Grey Gardens have announced that the show will debut in London during the 2007-2008 season, with star Christine Ebersole recreating her award-winning roles of Big Edith and Little Edie Beale.

In addition, the producers are in the planning stages of putting together a United States tour of the musical, although no decision has been made about Ebersole’s participation. No other specific information about either production has yet been announced.

Grey Gardens, based on the 1975 documentary film of the same title, is directed by Michael Greif. It features a book by Doug Wright, music by Scott Frankel, and lyrics by Michael Korie.

Yesterday, the show received 10 Tony Award nominations, including nods for Best Musical and Best Actress for Ebersole, who has already received the Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Obie, and Drama League Awards for her performance.
