The film, with a script by Shawn Slovo, will center on the legal battle between Ali and the government when the prize fighter became a conscientious objector to the Vietnam War.

Along with the previously reported Frank Langella and Christopher Plummer, the cast will feature Bob Balaban, Ed Begley Jr., Kathleen Chalfant, Danny Glover, Barry Levinson, Pablo Schreiber, and Benjamin Walker.
