Angela Lansbury to Receive B.C. Forbes Peopling of America Award

Five-time Tony Award winner Angela Lansbury will receive the B.C. Forbes Peopling of America Award, to be presented in a ceremony to be held on April 19 in the historic Great Hall on Ellis Island. The honor recognizes the achievements of an individual who immigrated to America.
Lansbury won her Tonys for Sweeney Todd, Mame, Dear World, Gypsy, and, most recently, Blithe Spirit. She is currently co-starring in the Broadway revival of Gore Vidal’s The Best Man at the Schoenfeld Theatre.
The ceremony will also feature the presentation of Ellis Island Family Heritage Awards to architect Richard Meier and baseball’s Anthony “Tony” LaRussa, Jr.
