Broadway’s Normal Heart Announces Complete Casting

Complete casting has been announced for the Broadway presentation of Larry Kramer’s The Normal Heart, which begins previews at the Golden Theatre on Tuesday, April 19 in anticipation of a Wednesday, April 27 opening. Joel Grey and George C. Wolfe will direct.

The play focuses on the terrifying early years of the AIDS epidemic in New York.

As previously reported, the production will star Joe Mantello as Ned Weeks, along with Ellen Barkin as Dr. Emma Brookner, Patrick Breen as Mickey Marcus, John Benjamin Hickey as Felix Turner, Luke Macfarlane as Craig Donner/Grady, Lee Pace as Bruce Niles, and Jim Parsons as Tommy Boatwright. Newly added cast members include Mark Harelik as Ben Weeks, Richard Topol as Hiram Keebler/Examining Doctor, and Wayne Wilcox as David.

The design team will include David Rockwell (sets), Martin Pakledinaz (costumes), David Weiner (lighting), David Van Tieghem (sound), and Batwin & Robin (projections).

The Broadway production will support the following charities: The Actors Fund, Friends In Deed, amfAR, and the Human Rights Campaign.
