Rosie O’Donnell to Host Discussion of Gay Adoption, in Association with New Group Musical The Kid

Rosie O’Donnell will host The Modern Family: A Discussion of Gay Adoption, to be presented by The New Group in association with its production of the musical
The Kid. The event will take place at Theatre Row on Sunday, April 18 at 7pm.

O’Donnell will be joined by special guests Terry Boggis (Director, Family Programs) of New York City’s LGBT Community Center, The Kid lyricist Jack Lechner, and photographer/adoptive parent Josh Lehrer, who will bring their personal perspectives to bear on a the subject of gay adoption.

The Kid is based on sex columnist Dan Savage’s book The Kid: What Happened After My Boyfriend and I Decided to Go Get Pregnant and also features music by Andy Monroe, book by Michael Zam, and direction by Scott Elliott.

The cast stars Christopher Sieber in the role of Dan Savage, and Lucas Steele as Dan’s boyfriend Terry. The company also features Kevin Anthony, Susan Blackwell, Jill Eikenberry, Jeannine Frumess, Ann Harada, Tyler Maynard, Brooke Sunny Moriber, Justin Patterson, and Michael Wartella.
