Festen bows on the Great White Way, Show People and Tryst open Off-Broadway.









The eagerly-awaited drama Festen, based on a Danish film and previously seen in London, opened last night at the Music Box. Seen here at the after party at Tavern on the Green are stars Larry Bryggman and Ali MacGraw, who play husband and wife Helge and Else.

















Also partying at Tavern: Handsome Michael Hayden, who plays the unhappy son, Christian...




















...TV favorite Julianna Margulies, who portrays the troubled daughter Helene...




















...and Six Feet Under star Jeremy Sisto, who plays the virulently racist sibling Michael.

...and Hank Azaria, recently seen in Spamalot, who was missing the telecast of the newest episode of his Showtime series Huff. (Presumably, he TiVoed it!)

















On Thursday evening, April 6, Karoline Leach's thriller Tryst opened at the Promenade. After the performance, stars Maxwell Caulfield and Amelia Campbell celebrated at Compass with their director, Joe Brancato.


















That same night, Paul Weitz's comedy Show People opened at Second Stage, starring (left to right) Ty Burrell, Judy Greer, Debra Monk, and Lawrence Pressman. The after party was held at Robert Emmett's Restaurant.
















Receiving congratulations at the party was author Paul Weitz, seen here with his mother, Susan Kohner, who earned an Oscar nomination for her performance in the classic weepie Imitation of Life.
