Lonette McKee to Perform at Oak Room in April

Tony Award nominee Lonette McKee will perform her cabaret show Can’t Help Lovin’, at the Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel, April 5-30.

McKee received a Tony nomination for her performance as Julie in the 1983 Broadway revival of Showboat, and played the same role in the 1994 Broadway revival of the musical. Other credits include The First on Broadway and Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill Off-Broadway, both of which earned her Drama Desk nominations.

As previously reported, the Oak Room’s 2011 schedule also includes Maude Maggart (through March 12); Jessica Molaskey and Dave Frishberg (March 15 – April 2); KT Sullivan (May 3-28); and Claire Martin and Sir Richard Rodney Bennett (May 31 – June 18). The Fall/Winter season will include Howard McGillin (September 13-24); Karen Akers (September 27 – October 29); Sandy Stewart and Bill Charlap (November 1-12); and Andrea Marcovicci (November 29 – December 30).
