Jennifer Gibbs and Kristin Marting Win Women Working with Women Collaboration Award

Playwright Jennifer Gibbs and director Kristin Marting are the winners of a Women Working with Women Collaboration Award, presented by the New York Coalition of Professional Women in the Arts & Media. The award will be presented at a champagne reception at the Gershwin Hotel, on March 2, at 6:30pm.

Gibbs and Marting won for their work on Gibbs’ play Sounding, currently in workshop at HERE, and based on Henrik Ibsen’s The Lady from the Sea. They plan a multi-media production, including film and music.

The ceremony will be hosted by the Coalition Board and its Honorary Artistic Advisors including musical collaborators, Nancy Ford and Gretchen Cryer, and playwright/performer Leslie Ayvazian.

Runners-up for the award are Carol Todd & Catherine Eaton for their screenplay, Showers of Happiness; cabaret performers, Melanie Adelman & Ellie Dvorkin for their cabaret musical, Mel & El, This Show Rhymes; Shirley Lauro & Alexis Greene for their anthology of plays by women: Political Visions; and Elyse Singer & Ruth Margraff for their opera, Wellsprings.
