Vanessa Williams Set for Walters’ Special; Pushing Daisies Renewed

Broadway star Vanessa Williams will be one of Barbara Walters’ guests on her 27th annual pre-Oscars special, airing February 24 at 7 pm on ABC, according to TVGuide.com. Walters, who co-hosts The View, will also speak with Oscar nominee Ellen Page (Juno), Harrison Ford, and Miley Cyrus.
Williams, a former Miss America, currently appears on the hit ABC series Ugly Betty. She starred on Broadway in the revival of Into the Woods and Kiss of the Spider Woman as well as the City Center Encores! production of St. Louis Woman.
In related news, TVGuide.com also reports that ABC has renewed nine of its shows, including Ugly Betty, Pushing Daisies, Private Practice, Dirty Sexy Money, Desperate Housewives, Samantha Who?, Grey’s Anatomy, Brothers & Sisters, and Lost, all of which star noted Broadway veterans, including Kristin Chenoweth, Swoosie Kurtz, Audra McDonald, Taye Diggs, Peter Krause, Jill Clayburgh, Felicity Huffman, Christina Applegate, Chandra Wilson, Sally Field, and Michael Emerson.
