59E59 Theaters will present the NYC premiere of Gidion's Knot, written by Johnna Adams and directed by Austin Pendleton (Ivanov). The play will begin performances on February 20 and run for a limited engagement through March 9. Opening night will be February 26.

Gidion's Knot, a finalist for the 2013 Harold and Mimi Steinberg/American Theatre Critics Association New Play Award, follows an emotionally overwhelmed elementary school teacher and an anguished mother during a fraught parent-teacher conference focused on a child named Gidion.

The play stars Karen Leiner (The Birthday Party) and Dara O'Brien (The Seagull). The design team features set design by Stephen Dobay, lighting design by Ryan Metzler, and sound design by Ryan Rummery.

Pendleton's directing credits include Spoils of War, Shelter, and The Little Foxes, for which received a Tony nomination. His Broadway acting credits include An American Millionaire, Grand Hotel, and The Diary of Anne Frank.
