American Theatre Wing to Make SDCF Archival Material Available for Free Download

The American Theatre Wing has announced that it will partner with The Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers (SSDC) to make never-before distributed media featuring conversations fostered by the Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF) available for streaming and download on the ATC website.

The Wing’s existing collection of programs includes more than 500 hours of audio and video material produced by the Wing since 1979. The SDCF material will include audio tapes from their Masters of the Stage series, beginning with conversations with Jose Quintero, George C. Wolfe, James Lapine and a joint conversation between Wendy Wasserstein and Daniel Sullivan. Forthcoming dialogues will include discussions with Christopher Ashley, Richard Eyre, David Mamet, Kathleen Marshall, Rob Marshall, Michael Mayer, Des McAnuff, Jerry Mitchell, Trevor Nunn, Ann Reinking, Susan Stroman, and Jerry Zaks.

The Wing also plans to form a media partnership to include material from Musical Theatre Works (MTW), a noted developer of new composers and new musicals.
