Peak Performances at Montclair has announced its 2011-2012 season.

Among the season highlights is an appearance by David Gordon’s Pick Up Performance Co(s), which will offer Dancing Henry Five (October 6-9). The show is a condensed version of Shakespeare’s history play that incorporates physical staging, video, music and select portions of the Bard’s text.

The Shanghai Quartet will also offer a performance on December 17. With guest artist clarinetist Michel Lethlec, the group will explore and offer selections from Porgy and Bess. In addition, a two-week run of Story/Time from Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company will play January 21-29, and the music-theater piece about the closing of a drag cabaret Gardenia, directed by Alain Platel and Frank Van Laecke, and featuring music by Steven Prengels will play March 17-25.

Among the other offerings on the Peak Performance schedule are appearances by the dance groups Companhia Urbana de Dança (September 22-25) and Akram Khan Company (February 8-12), and concerts featuring the National Chamber Choir of Ireland (October 16), Miguel Zenón (February 4), and Ellen Harris and Paul O’Dette (February 5).
