Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters will not reprise her current Broadway role as Sally Durant Plummer in Eric Schaeffer’s production of Stephen Sondheim and James Goldman’s Follies, when it plays Los Angeles’ Ahmanson Theatre, May 3-June 9, according to her spokesperson.

Peters has a concert tour scheduled for much of 2012, which begins in Fort Wayne, Indiana on February 4, and will fulfill those engagements. The Broadway run of Follies at the Marquis Theatre will conclude on January 22.

No casting has been announced for the Ahmanson run, though negotiations are reportedly going on with many members of the Broadway cast, who also include Jan Maxwell, Ron Raines, Danny Burstein, and Elaine Paige.

Follies features choreography by Warren Carlyle, music direction by James Moore, and the original orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick. The creative team also includes scenic designer Derek McLane, costume designer Gregg Barnes, lighting designer Natasha Katz, and sound designer by Kai Harada.
