Eight time Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken will compose the score for Relativity’s forthcoming film, Mirror Mirror, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film is based upon the Snow White story, and will be directed by Tarsem Singh. It is set to star Julia Roberts and Lily Collins and open on March 16, 2012.
Menken is currently represented on Broadway by the new musical Sister Act, and has also composed additional songs for Newsies, which will be seen on Broadway in the spring. His theater credits also include Little Shop of Horrors and the stage versions of Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid. Among his other film scores are Aladdin, Pocahontas, and Tangled.
