Paula Prentiss and Sab Shimono will star in West Coast Jewish Theatre's production of A Majority of One, by Leonard Spigelgass. Salome Jens will direct the production, which will play the Pico Playhouse, October 18-December 14, with an opening on October 23.

The play tells the story of a Jewish widow whose son was killed by the Japanese during World War II, and a Japanese man she meets while accompanying her daughter on a trip to Japan.

The cast will also include Ross Benjamin (Jerry), Fay Kato (Ayako), Tomo Kawaguchi (Noketi), Barbara Minkus (Essie), Edison Park (Eddie), and Anya Profumo (Alice). The creative team will include Victoria Bellocq (set), Kent Inasy (lighting), Danielle Bray (costumes), and Stafford Floyd (sound).

Prentiss, who will play Mrs. Jacoby, appeared on Broadway in The Norman Conquests, and additional theater credits include As You Like It, Power Plays, and The Tale of the Allergist's Wife. She is best known for her film work, which includes Where the Boys Are, Man's Favorite Sport, The World of Henry Orient, In Harm's Way, and What's New Pussycat.
