Stage veterans America Ferrera and Ana Ortiz were honored for their work on ABC’s Ugly Betty at the 24th annual Imagen Awards, which were handed out on August 21 in Beverly Hills. The awards recognize positive portrayals of Latinos and Latino culture in entertainment.
Other winners included the feature film Beverly Hills Chihuahua, the television film Little Girl Lost: The Delimar Vera Story, the children’s series Dora the Explorer, and the documentary A Class Apart. Additional acting winners included Luiz Guzman, Manolo Cardona, and Raymond Cruz.
Ugly Betty, which is scheduled to return to the air on October 9, also stars Vanessa Williams, Michael Urie, Becki Newton, Tony Plana, Mark Indelicato, and Judith Light.
