Works by Stephen Belber, Bill Cain, Adam Durwitz, Danai Gurira, et al. Set for the Ojai Playwrights Conference

The lineup of works that will be developed at the annual Ojai Playwrights Conference (OPC) has been announced, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times. From August 9-14, the OPC will offer public presentations of the works-in-progress.

Among the pieces is Black Sun, to be presented August 11, a new musical by playwright Stephen Belber and Adam Durwitz, a singer for the group Counting Crows. The show centers on eight New Yorkers who must deal with the sudden disappearance of sunlight from their existence.

Other works in the OPC lineup are Greg Boyle’s Tattoos on the Heart, Bill Cain’s 30.3. thirty. Three, a play for three actors in their 30s, Rick Cleveland’s Rick and Dick, Danai Gurira’s The Zimbabwe Project, Ken Lin’s Fallow, Don Nguyen’s Red Flamboyant, and Sara Treem’s When We Were Young and Unafraid.
