Hershey Felder will star in his solo concert theater presentation, George Gershwin Alone, at the Pasadena Playhouse, April 12-May 8. Felder’s engagement will also include performances of his Great American Songbook Sing-Along, on April 25 and May 9.

The Pasadena Playhouse run is billed as a 10th anniversary presentation of Felder’s show, which is an intimate portrait of the legendary composer that provides a personal glimpse into Gershwin’s early years, his personal life and his artistic genius. The evening includes many of Gershwin’s most famous pieces, including “I Got Rhythm,” “Someone to Watch Over Me,” and “Rhapsody in Blue.”

Joel Zwick directs, with scenic design by Yael Pardess and lighting design by Michael T. Gilliam.

In Great American Songbook Sing-Along, audiences will join Felder for a tour through an entire century of American music. Beginning with Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern and the Gershwins through Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim, the show features selections from The Sound of Music, Showboat, Fiddler on the Roof and more.
