Jane Lynch will receive the 14th annual Achievement Award from Outfest at a ceremony on July 8, to be held prior to the festival’s opening night screening at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles.

The Achievement Award is one of the organization’s highest honors and is given to a performer who has made a significant contribution to LGBT film and media.

Lynch, a longtime gay rights activist, recently received a Golden Globe nomination for her portrayal of Sue Sylvester on FOX’s Glee. Among her other film and television credits are Julie & Julia, Post Grad, Desperate Housewives and Weeds.

On stage, she was seen in The Real Live Brady Bunch and the Real Live Game Show (both in New York and Los Angeles), and recently, she was featured in the Off-Broadway production of Nora and Delia Ephron’s Love, Loss, and What I Wore.
