Jon Tenney will guest star on Aaron Sorkin's new HBO series, The Newsroom, according to a report on TVLIne.com. Tenney will play the boyfriend of the character played by Emily Mortimer.

Tenney's starred on Broadway in The Heiress, and his other stage credits include Tartuffe, The Substance of Fire, and The Real Thing.

Among his film and television credits are Green Lantern, Rabbit Hole, The Closer, and Brothers and Sisters.

The series, to be set at a cable news network, will also star Jeff Daniels, Sam Waterston, and Jane Fonda.
