Josefina López to Sign Books, Screen Real Women Have Curves, and Participate in Q&A

Award-winning playwright, screenwriter, author, Josefina López will participate in a special 10th Anniversary of the movie, Real Women Have Curves, on Thursday, September 6, presented by the American Cinematheque at the Egyptian Theatre and the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival.

López will be signing copies of her book, Real Women Have Curves and Other Plays, and be on hand for the screening of the film, starring America Ferrera, Lupe Ontiveros and George Lopez. She will also be featured in a Q&A session afterwards.

Joining López will be the film’s director Patricia Cardoso, producers Marilyn R. Atlas and Effie Brown and cast members Ingrid Oliu, Soledad St. Hilaire, Julia Vera, Sandie Torres, and others to be announced.

The screening will be a tribute to the late actress Lupe Ontiveros, who passed away last month. At the event López will also announce details about a new scholarship she is establishing in Ontiveros’ memory.
