Debbie Allen to Guest Star on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy

Debbie Allen will guest star on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, according to a report on TVGuide.com. She will play Catherine Avery, the mother of the character Jackson (played by Jessie Williams).

Allen is perhaps best known for her portrayal of Lydia Grant in both the movie Fame and the television series it inspired. As a performer, she received Tony Award nominations for Sweet Charity and West Side Story. As a director, she staged Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof in both New York and London, and her production of Twist – An American Musical recently concluded a run at the Pasadena Playhouse.
