Work from Dominic Dromgoole, Hal Holbrook, Mark St. Germain Part of The Broad Stage 2012-2013 Season

The Broad Stage has announced its plans for the 2012-2013 season, according to a report in The Los Angeles Times.

Among the highlights of the season is a presentation of a production of Hamlet from Shakespeare’s Globe (November 15-25), directed by Dominic Dromgoole and Bill Buckhurst. The theater will also see a production of Mark St. Germain’s play Freud’s Last Session in January and LEO, a piece that combines acrobatic dance and theater from the German company Circle of Eleven (March 9-10). The venue’s programming will also include a one-night-only performances by Hal Holbook, in Mark Twain Tonight!, and Ben Vereen.

In addition, the Broad Stage will host the L.A. Opera production of Dulce Rosa (May 19 – June 9), a new opera composed by Lee Holdridge, that will be conducted by Placido Domingo. The venue will also host a one-night-only performance in the company’s Recovered Voices series on October 4, with a concert featuring music by Zemlinsky, Schuloff and Schonberg.

Other offerings at the Broad Stage will include a series of performances of Transit Space (September 28-30), from the L.A. dance company Diavolo; a concert by the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, cellist Alisa Weilerstein (March 1); and an engagement by the Trey McIntyre Project (April 18-19).
