Annika Marks to Star in Nicholas Kazan’s Mlle. God

Annika Marks will star as Lulu in the world premiere of Oscar-nominated writer Nicholas Kazan’s Mlle. God, presented by Ensemble Studio Theatre/LA at the new Atwater Village Theatre, January 20-March 6, with an opening on January 28. Scott Paulin will direct.

Kazan has re-invented Frank Wedekind’s Lulu, creating an outrageous and muscular dark comedy that is a paean to sex, art, and living in the millisecond.

The double-cast ensemble will include Laura Beckner, Keith Arthur Bolden, Kim Chueh, William Duffy, Tasso Feldman, Kareem Ferguson, Will Harris, Jon Kellam, Andy Lauer, John Nielsen, Gary Patent, Heather Robinson, Keith Szarabajka, Robert Trebor and Jacqueline Wright.

The production will feature set and lighting design by Richard Hoover, sound design by John Zalewski, projection design by Jason Thompson, and costume design by Christina Haatainen-Jones.

Kazan received an Oscar nomination for “Best Screenplay” for Reversal of Fortune. His stage plays include Blood Moon, and A Good Soldier.
