Penelope Keith and Peter Bowles to Star in West End Production of The Rivals

Peter Hall’s production of The Rivals, starring Penelope Keith and Peter Bowles, will transfer to the West End, playing the Theatre Royal Haymarket with previews beginning November 10.
Keith will play the verbally misguided Mrs. Malaprop while Bowles takes on the blinkered Sir Anthony Absolute. The comedy, set in 1775, features a slew of suitors and schemers and their servants who indulge in an assortment of hilariously extravagant intrigues before everyone is paired off to their own satisfaction. The production recently played Theatre Royal Bath.
Keith and Bowles previously starred together in the TV sitcom To the Manor Born. Both have numerous additional stage and screen credits.
