Lyric Hammersmith has announced casting for Simon Stephens’ Punk Rock, to run September 6-18, according to a report on Whatsonstage.com. Sarah Frankcom will direct the production, which will embark on a nine-week U.K. tour following its London engagement.
The play focuses on a group of educated and articulate young people in their final year together at school, exposing the dislocation and latent violence that simmers under the surface of success that surrounds them.
The company will feature Rupert Simonian (William), Nicholas Banks (Nicholas Chatman), Katie West (Tanya Gleason), Simon Wolfe (Dr Richard Harvey), Laura Pyper (Lilly Cahill) Ed Franklin (Bennett Francis), Mike Noble (Chadwick Meade), and Ruth Milne (Cissy Franks).
