Ricki Stern and Annie Sundberg’s Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work will open the Sheffield Doc/Fest, with a screening on November 3, according to a report in Variety. The Festival continues through November 7.
The documentary was filmed over the course of a year and exposes the private life and dramas of the comedienne. It is expected that both the filmmakers and Rivers will be in attendance at the screening, which will mark the film’s U.K. premiere.
In related news, it has been announced that A Piece of Work will be broadcast in the U.K. on November 9 on More4, one of the British network Channel 4’s digital web channels.
