Peter Capaldi, James Fleet, Ben Miller, Clive Rowe, Marcia Warren and Stephen Wight will star in a stage version of the movie The Ladykillers, which is slated to begin performances in the West End in late 2011.

The movie centers on a group of men who impersonate a band in order to rob a casino and the unsuspecting landlady who watches their plan unfold. Additional casting and creative team will be announced shortly.

Capaldi won an Academy Award for Best Short Film, Live Action for Franz Kafka’s It’s a Wonderful Life and 2010 BAFTA TV Award for his work in The Thick of It. Fleet was most recently seen on stage in The Heretic at the Royal Court Theatre. Miller is perhaps best known for his work in the comedy duo, Armstrong and Miller. Rowe has appeared in the West End in such musicals as Guys and Dolls and The Fantasticks. Warren has won two Olivier Awards: for Stepping Out and Humble Boy. Wight won an Evening Standard Award for Outstanding Newcomer for Don Juan in Soho at the Donmar Warehouse.

The show is the first offering from a new production company, Fiery Dragons, which has been founded by Raymond Gubbay, Luke Johnson and Edward Snape. The company also plans to produce a West End revival of Me & My Girl and a sequel to The 39 Steps.
