Denise Black, Cynthia Erivo, Michael Starke, et al. Set for U.K. Tour of Sister Act

Principal casting has been announced for a U.K. tour of the musical Sister Act, which will launch with an engagement at the Manchester Opera House running September 29 – October 15.

Other tour cities are Oxford, Edinburgh, Dublin, Bristol, Nottingham, Leeds, Abderden, Liverpool, and Plymouth, among others.

The musical, which is based on the film of the same name, tells the story of a disco diva put into protective custody in a convent after she runs away from her gangster boyfriend. The show features an original score with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Glenn Slater, and a book by Cheri and Bill Steinkellner, with additional book material from Douglas Carter Beane.

The company will feature Cynthia Erivo (Deloris Van Cartier), Denise Black (Mother Superior), Michael Starke (Monsignor O’Hara), Julie Atherton (Sister Mary Robert), Edward Baruwa (Eddie Souther), Cavin Cornwall (Curtis Jackson), Gavin Alex (Pablo), Jacqueline Clarke (Sister Mary Lazarus), Tyrone Huntley as (TJ) and Laurie Scarth (Sister Mary Patrick).
