Jane Alexander will play Queen Elizabeth II in the Hallmark Channel’s original movie William & Kate: A Royal Love Story, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The project, which has a script by Linda Yellen, centers on the love story of Prince William and Kate Middleton, from their time as students together at St. Andrews, through his military training, a break-up, and their current engagement.
Alexander won a Tony Award for her performance in The Great White Hope and was Tony-nominated for The Sisters Rosensweig, 6 Rms Riv Vu, Find Your Way Home, First Monday in October, The Visit, and Honour. She is a four-time Oscar nominee and two-time Emmy winner. In addition, she is the former chair of the National Endowment for the Arts.
