Christine Baranski to Star in London Concert Performance of Follies

A star-studded cast has been announced for a one-night-only concert performance of Stephen Sondheim's Follies at London's Royal Albert Hall on April 28.
Joined by the City of London Philharmonic Orchestra, the cast will include two-time Tony winner Christine Baranski (Into the Woods) as Phyllis Rogers Stone. Baranski played Carlotta Campion in the 2007 City Center Encores! production of Follies. Also joining the cast are Anita Dobson (EastEnders) as Stella Deems, Anita Harris (Carry On Doctor & Follow That Camel) as Emily Whitman, Ruthie Henshall (Chicago) as Sally Durant Plummer, Roy Hudd (Oliver!) as Theodore Whitman, and best-selling classical tenor Russell Watson as Roscoe.
Additional star casting for the roles of Buddy Plummer, Benjamin Stone, Hattie Walker, and Carlotta Campion will be announced shortly.
With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Goldman, Follies is set around a group of ex-performers, with two couples — Buddy and Sally Durant Plummer, and Benjamin and Phyllis Rogers Stone — at the center of the plot. They reunite on the stage of the now-decrepit theater that was once their professional home the night before it is turned into a parking lot.
The concert performance, celebrating Sondheim's 85th birthday year, will be directed by Craig Revel Horwood (Strictly Come Dancing), with choreography by Andrew Wright.
