The Gate Theatre will once again present Natalie Abrahami’s critically acclaimed production of The Kreutzer Sonata at its London home, January 6-Feburary 18, 2012 prior to a run at New York City’s La MaMa E.T.C., March 8-25.

Nancy Harris’ adaptation of Leo Tolstoy’s controversial novella — which originally played the Gate in 2009 — will feature Hilton McRae, reprising his role as jealous husband Posdnyshev in this study of death, desire and Beethoven. Also returning are original cast members Sophie Scott, as Posdnyshev’s wife, and Tobias Beer, as supposed lover Trukhachevski.

The production is designed by Chloe Lamford with lighting by Mark Howland, sound by Carolyn Downing and musical direction by Tom Mills. Film is by Dan Stafford Clark with projection by Ian William Galloway.
