Clare Foster, Kim Medcalf, Harriet Thorpe, Sean Palmer et al. Set for London’s Crazy For You

Casting has been announced for the London production of Crazy for You, to play Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, July 28-September 10. Timothy Sheader will direct, with dance arrangements, musical supervision and musical direction by Gareth Valentine.

George and Ira Gershwin’s hit musical comedy is packed full of classic songs including “I Got Rhythm”, “Someone To Watch Over Me”, “Embraceable You” and “Nice Work If You Can Get It”. The original 1992 production won both the Tony and Olivier Award for Best New Musical.

The cast will star Sean Palmer as Bobby Child, Clare Foster as Polly Baker, Kim Medcalf as Irene Roth, Harriet Thorpe as the Mother and Patricia, Michael McKell as Lank, and David Burt as Bela Zangler.

Also featured will be Rachel Stanley (Tess), Alexis Owen Hobbs (Patsy), Samuel Holmes (Eugene), Peter Martin (Everett), Lucy Anderson, Jessica Buckby, Cara Elston, Charlene Ford, Jo Goodwin, Amy Griffiths (Follies Girls), Harry Morrison, James O’Connell, Carl Sanderson, Phil Snowden, Stephen Whitson (Cowboys), Richard Jones, Josh Lacey and Jo Morris (Swings).

The production team will include choreographer Stephen Mear, set and costume designer Peter McKintosh, lighting designer Tim Mitchell, orchestrator Chris Egan, and sound designer Mike Walker.

In related news, Foster and Medcalf will perform a medley of Gershwin hits from the show exclusively for West End Live on Saturday 18 June in Leicester Square at 3.10pm.
