Roger Allam and Philip Quast to Star in London La Cage Aux Folles in May

Roger Allam and Philip Quast will star respectively as Albin/Zaza and Georges in the London revival of La Cage Aux Folles, now at the Playhouse Theater, beginning May 4, according to www.whatsonstage.com.

The Jerry Herman-Harvey Fierstein musical is directed by Terry Johnson, and recently received two Olivier Awards, including Best Musical Revival. The current cast also features Paula Wilcox, Jason Pennycooke, Iain Mitchell, Alicia Davies, Stuart Neal and Tracie Bennett.

Allam, who succeeds Graham Norton, won Olivier Awards for Privates on Parade and Money, and originated the part of Javert in Les Miserables. Quast originated his part in this revival at the Menier Chocolate Factory, and will replace Steven Pacey when he returns to the production. He has received three Olivier Awards, for his performances in Sunday in the Park with George, The Fix, and South Pacific.
