Michael Bakkensen, Sean Lyons et al. Set for Alley Theatre’s Ether Dome

Casting has been announced for the Alley Theatre’s world premiere production of Elizabeth Egloff’s Ether Dome, to run September 9-October 9, with an opening on September 14. Michael Wilson will direct.

The play tells the story of the discovery of anesthesia and focuses on the relationship between two of the greatest medical innovators in Western history, Horace Wells and his student, William Morton.

Michael Bakkensen will star as Wells, with Sean Lyons as Morton. The cast will also feature Jeffrey Bean, Elizabeth Bunch, James Belcher, Joshua Estrada, Adam Gibbs, Dylan Godwin, Chris Hutchison, Philip Lehl, Kalob Martinez, Melissa Pritchett, Anne Quackenbush, Rebekah Stevens, John Tyson, and Todd Waite.

The production will feature scenic design by James Youmans, costume design by David C. Woolard, lighting design by David Lander, and sound design by Alex Neumann with original music by John Gromada.
