Frank Galati, Lynn Nottage, et al. Set for Asolo Repertory Theatre’s Winter/Spring 2011 Season

Asolo Repertory Theatre has announced its 2011 winter/spring season.

The year will begin with David Hirson’s La Béte (The Beast), to be directed by Michael Donald Edward and run January 7 – February 20. The company will feature David Breitbarth (Rene du Parc), Douglas Jones (Bejart), Bryan Torfeh (Elomire), Danny Scheie (Valere), Jason Bradley (De Brie), Jud Williford (Prince Conti), Kate Hampton (Marquise-Therese du Parc), Mercedes Herrero (Madeleine Bejart), Alicia Dawn Bullen (Ensemble), Adam Carpenter (Servant), Devereau Chumrau (Dorine), Kim Hausler (Catherine De Brie), Danny Jones (Servant), Ron Kagan (Servant), and Will Little (Servant).

The creative team for will include Erik Flatmo (Set Design), Brandin Barón (Costume Design) David Cuthbert (Lighting Design) and Fabian Obispo (Composer and Sound Design).

Frank Galati will direct the company’s second production for the year, Reginald Rose’s Twelve Angry Men, to run January 14 – March 26. Scheduled to play the men who are debating one man’s fate are: David Breitbarth (Juror #4), James Clarke (Juror #3), Douglas Jones (Juror# 10) and David S. Howard (Juror #9). Guest Artists Jud Williford (Juror #8), John Sterling Arnold (Juror #11), Adam Carpenter (Juror #2), Danny Jones (Juror #6), Ron Kagan (Juror #5), Will Little (Guard), Don Walker (Juror #1), Steve Garland (Juror #12) and Ronald Krine Myroup (Juror #7).

The designers for the piece will be Russell Metheny (Set Design), Mara Blumenfeld (Costume Design), and James D. Sale (Lighting Design), along with Resident Sound Designer Matthew Parker.

Mark Camoletti’s sex farce Boeing Boeing (January 21 – April 23) will feature Bryan Torfeh (Bernard), Jason Bradley (Robert), Kate Hampton (German Hostess), Mercedes Herrero (Bertha), Kim Hausler (American Hostess), and Angela Sauer (Italian Hostess). The design team will be Judy Gailen (Set Design), Eduardo Sicangco (Costume Design), and James D. Sale (Lighting Design), along with Resident Sound Designer Parker.

Lynn Nottage’s Las Meninas (The Waiting Women) will also be part of the theater’s repertory schedule, running March 18 – May 15, directed by Michael Donald Edwards. The play about an illicit love affair in the royal house of France will feature David Breitbarth (Doctor), Douglas Jones (Painter), Barbara Redmond (Queen Mother/Superior), Jud Williford (King Louis), Kate Hampton (La Valliere), Alicia Dawn Bullen (Lady), Adam Carpenter (Courtier), Devereau Chumrau (Therese), Kim Hausler (Lady), Danny Jones (Courtier), Ron Kagan (Courtier), Will Little (Nabo), Angela Sauer (Lady), Lindsay Marie Tierce (Marie Therese), and David Valdez (Attendant).

The creative team for this piece will be Lee Savage (Set Design), B. Modern (Costume Design), Burke Brown (Lighting Design), Dan Scully (Projection Design), and Fitz Patton (Composer and Sound Design).

Peter Amster’s staging of Ira Levin’s thriller Deathtrap (April 1 – May 14) will have a cast that stars James Clarke (Porter Milgrim), Carolyn Michel (Helga), Bryan Torfeh (Sidney), Mercedes Herrero (Myra), and Dane Dandridge (Clifford). The design team will be Michael Schweikardt (Set Design), Virgil Johnson (Costume Design), Aaron Muhl (Lighting Design), Kevin Kennedy (Sound Design), and Bruce Lecure (Fight Director).

Asolo Repertory’s season will conclude with Steve Drukman’s The Innocents (April 15 – May 14), directed by Andrew Cato. This play about a middle-aged gay couple will have a cast that includes Jason Bradley (Sutter), Jud Williford (Daniel), Kate Hampton (Edie), and Scott Kerns (Liron). The creative team will feature Lee Savage (Set Design), Amy Cianci (Costume Design), and Tyler Micoleau (Lighting Design), along with along with Resident Sound Designer Parker.
