Synopsis:
Sparked by meth's influence (known as "Tina") on gay communities across America, Beauty Is uses physical theater to explore the underlying emotional reasons why people engage in self-destructive behavior and to raise awareness about the dangers of crystal methamphetamine. This engrossing production evokes the raw emotionality of missed connections, repressed tenderness, and painful pleasure that people on Tina experience. It uses the embodiment of graphic physicality and rushed extremism to enact the fantasies and horrors of crystal methamphetamine.
