Cole, Elling, Sloane, Stewart, et al. Set for 92nd Street Y's Jazz in July

Famed jazz vocalists Freddy Cole, Kurt Elling, Carol Sloane, and Sandy Stewart will be among the featured performers at the 92nd Street Y's Jazz in July festival, July 22-31. The festival is under the direction of award-winning pianist Bill Charlap, who will perform in each of the programs.

This year's line-up includes tributes to Leonard Bernstein (July 22), George Shearing (July 30), and Billy Strayhorn (July 31); a Piano Jam (July 23); a performance by the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra (July 24); and a night of Jazz Samba (July 29).

Guest musicians will include Fred Hersch, Dr. Billy Taylor, Cedar Walton, Bill Mays, Frank Wess, Ted Rosenthal, Peter Washington, Joe Locke, Harry Allen, Mulgrew Miller, and many others.
