Show Boat Extends Through September 17 at Goodspeed Opera House

Goodspeed Musicals has extended Show Boat, running at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, CT. Directed by Rob Ruggiero, the production, which has choreography by Noah Racey and musical direction by Michael O’Flaherty, will now play through September 17.

Based on Edna Ferber’s novel of the same name and featuring music by Jerome Kern and book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, the show centers on life aboard the titular vessel as it travels the Mississippi.

The company features Sarah Uriarte Berry (Magnolia), Ben Davis (Ravenal), David Aron Damane (Joe), Andrea Frierson (Queenie), Karen Murphy (Parthy), Lenny Wolpe (Cap’n Andy), Danny Gardner (Frank), Jennifer Knox (Ellie), Lesli Margherita (Julie), and Maddie Berry (Kim).

The ensemble includes Paule Aboite, Elizabeth Berg, Elise Kinnon, Denise Lute, A’Lisa Miles, Mollie Vogt-Welch, Kyle E. Baird, Robert Hannon Davis, Robert Lance Mooney, Rob Richardson, Greg Roderick, Jet Thompson, David Toombs, Richard Waits, and Nicholas Ward. The swings will be Adam Fenton Goddu and Christiana Rodi.

The creative team is comprised of scenic designer Michael Schweikardt, costume designer Amy Clark, lighting designer John Lasiter, sound designer Jay Hilton, and orchestrator Dan DeLange.
