Long Wharf Theatre has added the Irish Repertory Theatre’s production of Brian Friel’s Molly Sweeney to its 2011-2012 season, to run September 14 – October 16. Charlotte Moore will once again direct the play.
The play centers on a woman, who, having been blind since she was an infant, has her eyesight restored. Casting will be announced in the near future.
As previously announced, the season will also include David Rintel’s stage adaptation of William Styron’s Sophie’s Choice (April 25 – May 20), to be directed by Gordon Edelstein and featuring Carla Gugino in the title role, along with a revival of Ain’t Misbehavin’, the new musical February House, and John Van Druten’s Bell, Book & Candle, among others.
