Sean Cullen will take over the role of Pseudolus from original star Bruce Dow in Canada’s Stratford Shakespeare Festival production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, beginning in early September.

Dow was sidelined due to an injury, and has withdrawn from Stratford’s 2009 season, in order to fully heal. Understudy Randy Ganne has been covering Dow’s role since the injury.

Cullen is a multiple award-winning comedian/actor/writer/producer who wrote the award-winning Hamish X trilogy for young adults, played Max Bialystock in the Canadian production of The Producers, and starred in his own CBC TV series, The Seán Cullen Show.
