Theatre Development Fund will honor the Broadway production of Kinky Boots at its annual gala, to be held March 20 at 8pm at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. The musical opened there in 2013.

Cyndi Lauper, the show's Tony-winning composer, will welcome the audience to the event, which will feature original stars Billy Porter, Stark Sands, and Annaleigh Ashford, as well as past and current leading cast members J. Harrison Ghee, Todrick Hall, Alan Mingo Jr., Killian Donnelly, Andy Kelso, Jeanna de Waal, and original ensemble members Paul Canaan, Nathan Peck, Charlie Sutton, and Joey Taranto. Kinky Boots director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell and musical director Will Van Dyke will direct.

Inspired by the 2005 British film of the same title, Kinky Boots features a Tony-winning score by Cyndi Lauper and a book by Harvey Fierstein. The musical tells the story of Charlie Price, the owner of a failing shoe factory who realizes that a sassy drag queen named Lola has the key to the business' success.
