The acclaimed Lisa Kron and Jeanine Tesori musical Fun Home celebrated its Broadway opening night at the Circle in the Square Theatre on April 19. Directed by Sam Gold, the production began performances on March 27, after a celebrated run at the Public Theater from October 22, 2013-January 12, 2014.

Inspired by Alison Bechdel's graphic novel-memoir of the same title, Fun Home follows the real-life Bechdel's journey to accept the death of her stern, closeted father, Bruce, while coming to terms with her own sexuality. Michael Cerveris, Judy Kuhn, Beth Malone, Sydney Lucas, Emily Skeggs, Joel Perez, Roberta Colindrez, Zell Steele Morrow, and Oscar Williams are featured in the company.

Following the show, the cast and their guests — including Bechdel herself, Les Misérables film star Samantha Barks, Gigi's Vanessa Hudgens, gay marriage pioneer Edie Windsor, and Tony-winning Broadway vets Bernadette Peters, Joel Grey, and Sutton Foster — headed to Urbo to toast the musical's Broadway premiere.
