The 2017 Tony Award nominations were announced on Tuesday, May 2, by Jane Krakowski and Christopher Jackson at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.

Additionally, Gareth Fry and Pete Malkin will be presented with a Special Tony Award for their outstanding Sound Design in Simon McBurney's The Encounter.

The 71st Annual Tony Awards, presented by the Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, will be broadcast live on CBS from Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 11, in a ceremony hosted by Kevin Spacey.
