Carey Anderson will rejoin the cast of the Tony Award-winning musical Avenue Q at the Golden Theatre, beginning November 26. She will take over the roles of Kate Monster and Lucy, which she previously portrayed this past summer prior to performing the roles in the show's national tour.

Directed by Jason Moore, Avenue Q is a musical about 20-somethings who move to the city with big dreams and tiny bank accounts. It features music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, and a book by Jeff Whitty based on an original concept by Lopez and Marx.

Anderson has played Sophie in Mamma Mia! on Broadway and on tour. Other New York credits include the Musicals Tonight! productions of The Girlfriend and My Favorite Year, and Abbey Victoria at Lark Theatre.

The current cast also includes Christian Anderson (Nicky, Trekkie Monster, Bear and others), Jennifer Barnhart (Mrs. T., Bear and others), Nicholas Kohn (Brian), Carla Renata (Gary Coleman), Ann Sanders (Christmas Eve), and Howie Michael Smith (Princeton and Rod).

The creative team includes Rick Lyon (puppet design), Stephen Oremus (musical supervision), Ken Roberson (choreography), Anna Louizos (scenic design), Mirena Rada (costume design), Howell Binkley (lighting design), and Acme Sound Partners (sound design).
