On Wednesday, August 25, A Life in the Theatre stars Patrick Stewart and T.R. Knight joined director Neil Pepe to speak to members of the press about the show's Broadway production, which set to begin previews on September 21 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. The show, which opens officially on October 12, will play a limited engagement through January 2.

The play focuses on the relationship between two thespians: Robert, an older, experienced performer (Stewart); and John (Knight), a relative newcomer. While Robert's guidance is welcomed by John at first, as the play progresses Robert falters as an actor and mentor, and John emerges as a mature actor.

As previously reported, the creative team will include Santo Loquasto (scenic design), Kenneth Posner (lighting design), and Laura Bauer (costume design).
