The producers of the Broadway production of David Mamet’s Race has announced that the production has recouped its investment, making it the first new play to recoup on Broadway this season. The play is scheduled to conclude its limited run on June 13 at the Barrymore Theatre.

In the play, three attorneys, two black and one white, are offered a chance to defend a white man charged with a crime against a black woman. Mamet directs a cast that stars James Spader, David Alan Grier, Kerry Washington, and Richard Thomas.

The production features sets by Santo Loquasto, lighting design by Brian Macdevitt, and costumes by Tom Broecker.
