Peter and the Starcatcher land at Lyric Stage Company of Boston

The origins of the Boy Who Never Grew Up are revealed.

Performances of Peter and the Starcatcher begin tonight at Lyric Stage Company.

Based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, the show follows Molly who has been tasked with protecting a cargo of stardust. Of the utmost importance is that the stardust doesn’t end up in the wrong hands. When an orphan crosses pathes with Molly, however, everything changes and the most infamous little boy emerges from the fallout.

The play was written by Rick Elice, with music by Wayne Barker. Spiro Veloudos helms this production, which features Ed Hoopman as Black Stache, Erica Spyres as Molly, Marc Pierre as Boy/Peter, Margarita Martinez as Grempkin/Mack/Sanchez/Fighting Prawn, William McGarrahan as Mrs. Bumbrake/Teacher, Dale J. Young as Slank/Hawking Clam, Alejandro Simoes as Smee, Tyler Simahk as Prentiss, Margaret Ann Brady as Alf, Damon Singletary as Lord Aster, Robert Saoud as Captain Scott, and Matt Spano as Ted.

The creative team includes Catherine Stornetta (musical director), Ilyse Robbins (choreography), Janie E. Howland (set design), Elisabetta Polito (costume design), and Franklin Meissner, Jr. (lighting design).
